Tai Sui

The ancients noticed the planet Jupiter revolved around the Sun once about every 12 years. This period marked by the rotational path of Jupiter’s return was felt as a significant change on Earth. The ruler Jupiter’s title is Tai Sui, the Grand Duke Jupiter 太 岁 星 君.

Tai Sui is the name for stars directly opposite the planet Jupiter (木星 Mùxīng) in its roughly 12-year orbital cycle. Personified as deities, they are important features of Chinese astrology, Feng Shui, and Taoism. They are governed by the Goddess Dou Mu, the Mother of the Big Dipper. Tai Sui, means the Guardian God of the Year. Tai Sui governs all the fortunes of a particular year. There are a total of 60 Tai Sui, each personified as a celestial general in service of the Jade Emperor. They correspond to the cycle of 60 years according to the ancient Chinese calendar of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, one for each of the 12 animal signs paired with each of the five elements (5 elements x 12 Branches). They have different qualities and features.

These deities reign in order, each taking a turn for an entire year. The General this year is respectfully referred to as Jia-Chen Tai Sui 甲辰 太, connected to General Li Cheng. You can understand where Tai Sui will be for the year by knowing which animal sign and Element is reigning (Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch). This year, 2025, the Yin Wood is the Heavenly Stem and the Snake is the Earthly Branch of the year. The ruling Tai Sui of the year is General Wu Sui. 赛道偶发hi吗:

GENERAL WU SUI

General Wu Sui was a scholar and magistrate during the Song Dynasty, renowned for his keen intellect and ability to solve even the most complex cases. His reputation for thoroughly analyzing evidence made him highly sought after by other magistrates who often requested his assistance. As a result, he was promoted to governor of Xiuning County.

During his tenure, a severe drought struck the region. General Wu Sui, determined to help his people, spent three days and nights praying at the temple. His prayers were answered, and rain fell on his county, while neighboring regions remained parched, leading to famine and chaos. Despite fires and looting in surrounding areas, Wu Sui’s county thrived. Through tax exemptions and relief efforts, he maintained peace and stability, making his province a rare haven of order during a time of widespread suffering.*

The signs that conflict or offend with Tai Sui this year are Pig, Monkey, and Tiger. If your sign offends the Grand Duke this year, you may get an amulet of a Horse (Peach Blossom Star for the Snake), or the Grand Duke himself to wear to help divert bad luck. However, the common-sense advice below will bode well as the year progresses. Even an amulet blessed by a Priest is only as efficacious as the wearer’s intent and behavior.

Possible results of this conflict can be:

Trouble with authorities
Family disputes
Financial misfortune
Illness and accidents
Unforeseen events like natural disasters

To avoid, sidestep, or mitigate these consequences:
Maintain a positive mindset.
Participate in joyful celebrations.
Be extra careful of your health, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and observe preventive healthcare
Be generous with your money, giving to charities, but not to the extent it harms your family
Steer clear of high-risk sports and trips to dangerous places in the world
Ensure regular car maintenance and careful driving
Avoid risky investments or unnecessary career changes

This is a powerful element in Feng Shui. One should respect this direction in your home or office every year thus, avoid construction or renovation in his area of your house. If you must do construction, consult a professional Feng Shui consultant to determine the best way to proceed. If there is a door in this sector of your house, please use it less.  Avoid loud noises, construction, or anything that might create a disturbance. This is not the year to have wind chimes or water fountains in this area to activate it. Consult your professional to find a better sector for those cures. Do not sit facing the Grand Duke this year, sSE 142.5° to 157.5°.

Tai Sui is said to “fly” into a different direction on the magnetic compass each year. This year he comes in from the South/South East (opposite the planet Jupiter). He affects a 15-degree arc. Directly opposite him is the Year Breaker.

Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter), — SE3 — 142.5º to 157.5º

Sui Po (Year Breaker) — NW3 — 322.5º – 337.5º

San Sha (3 Killings) — EAST sector 67.5º—112.5º

General Principles
Do not disturb (no construction) the Grand Duke or Year Breaker

Do not face the Grand Duke.

Instead, face the Year Breaker

Do not turn your back on the 3 Killings (WEST Sector)

Avoid construction and unnecessary activity in the EAST, WEST, or The Grand Duke and San Sha placement

If you have a door in the Grand Duke or 3 Killings sectors, try to use it less this year.
Be certain it is clean, neat, and well-lit.

If the head of your bed is facing this direction, move it so the head faces another of your good directions.
